The roast pork might have been good if it was really warm and the red cabbage was forgotten.
Unfortunately I wasn't allowed to have a positive experience yesterday ... On the one hand, we had to wait forever for the service staff, on the other hand, when I asked her about it, she was quite unfriendly with the words "I'll try".
We were there on Sunday for breakfast it was very good we had the imperial buffet the staff was very friendly and attentive, all in all we were very satisfied. Had a very nice Sunday morning. I can only recommend
Well-attended restaurant with quick staff. Cocktails are good but not outstanding. The beer is mainly Paulaner and a matter of taste. We had a nice evening, but felt a bit uncomfortable due to Corona. The partitions between the tables are sensibly integrated. I know it is difficult to wear the face mask all day, but it would be appropriate in the guest room of the guests.
Nice brewery style eatery with a menu that is not too big but has something for everybody. Obviously a good selection of beers too. Speedy service and right in the centre of Speyer.
We were there for breakfast on Sunday and were a bit irritated that you were allowed to go to the buffet without gloves, it shouldn't be a problem to give the guest plastic gloves or to lay them out, most of the warm dishes were unfortunately cold and that at 9.30am. The selection is really great, but I can't understand that for € 20.90 there are no rolls from the bakery, the quality of the baked goods to bake was really poor.
Unfortunately, we had to move inside early in the evening for the purpose of official requirements. Outside area with nice weather really great with a view of the cathedral. Inside you sit nicely too. Friendly and nice waitresses. Gladly again.
Unfortunately, it didn't hit us that well, because the waitress responsible for our area was only seen after 20 minutes and then brought us the registration slip and menu. After another 15 minutes we tore up our registration and left the restaurant without placing an order. Guests of the other areas, those who came far behind us were served much faster.
Great location, delicious food. I had roast pork, it was super tender. Nice and brisk staff.
Excellent traditional cuisine, great wines (personal favorite: Blanc de Noir) and great service! Thumbs up!
I can't share the reviews that the price-performance ratio was top or good. At most it was okay, i.e. a grade of 4. The food, a liver dumpling - 1 bratwurst - sauerkraut - rustic baguette, were very tasty. But for the price m. E. too little! For the price - compared to restaurants of the same value - it should have been a liver dumpling or a bratwurst more. In addition, the portion of sauerkraut was too little and so was the sauce. In terms of taste, the very warm rustic baguette was the icing on the cake, three thick slices of the amount, also good! The wheat cyclist also tasted great! Thank you for your great taste experience. In need of improvement in the amount of individual dishes in the dish.
Just wow .. you have the feeling that the service staff enjoy their work. Rarely have such a friendly and courteous staff experienced. The food is very good. We will go again.
Despite or perhaps because of the different ratings, we "tested" the inn on Friday, August 28th, 2020. Our conclusion in advance: absolutely recommendable! Now to the details: we were served within 3 minutes despite a seat that was not directly visible to the staff (it was busy ...). The service from Cathrin was perfect: she was super nice without being intrusive, asked questions, drinks and food came at very reasonable times. The food tasted great, the portions were very generous ... we liked it so much that we went to eat there again on Saturday (this time outside). Same picture: busy, great service, very prompt, great food. One can discuss excellently about too little or too much salt, etc.; I cook for my family 7 days a week and more often for friends, so I know what I'm talking about: the tastes are different but the type of preparation, the timing and the presentation (you can eat with your eyes) were absolutely okay. The guests around us also seemed very satisfied. In the end, "moaning" again at a high level: the Munich schnitzel (coated with horseradish and sweet mustard) was very nice and flat, the fried potatoes very tasty, the salad with a subtle nutty oil was great, but the schnitzel didn't have a trace of horseradish or sweet mustard tasty (because of the breading?). Based on our experience, we can unreservedly recommend the inn. We live a good 80 km away, but when we are in the area again, we will be very happy to come back!
My family have eaten there several times. Otherwise we were always satisfied, only yesterday the schnitzel was dry, the fried potatoes mushy, the side salad consisted of 5 leaves that weren't shredded and you had half a salad on your fork Cola no longer carbonated. I have no idea what was going on in the kitchen yesterday, but it was much better. That's why we would have had 4 stars for the first time yesterday if there had been no star for the kitchen. Another big plus point is the friendly staff, who are really busy but always have a smile and friendly words.
Awesome. Staff recognized us the other day and even what drinks we had. Food also tasty. I’d recommend this place!
The food was okay, the only thing missing was salt in all of the dishes. The service ... it took 15 minutes until you were served after being asked to make it unfriendly. A good appetite was not even wanted when the food was served.
Food 5⭐️ Service 5⭐️ Waiting time 😓 was quite a bit for 3 main courses (40 mins) but overall we are still satisfied. Main course we had: • Allgäuer Käsespatzen • Grill Teller • Schnitzel with Bolognese Sauce
Taste is good, the portions could be bigger. The wait staff are friendly and helpful. The restaurants in the side streets away from the main pedestrian zone are recommended.
Gigantic rump steak with pepper sauce and very good fried chicken. Friendly service without card at the end of the evening. Pleasant cathedral view. Good tourist stop, not disappointed with the choice
The food was warm. The french fries could have used a little more flavor. (matter of taste) That was the schnitzel heavenly. The conditions were friendly and you don't wait too long. However, our order was mixed up and afterwards I had something on my plate that was from the first dish. However, I would eat there again anytime.
Food was delicious, conditions are very friendly. I have always had good experiences and would be happy to recommend it. Our condition Sabrina was just great, keep it up.
You wait and wait and wait. Nothing happens when you are told that you have been waiting for 20 minutes. We still sit here. Unfortunately, the table does not generate any money during this time. But you can sit here quite well, otherwise we would not have been sitting for 40 minutes. Unfortunately, we cannot say how it tastes
Were there for the breakfast buffet. Good selection in itself, unfortunately everything full of blow flies, even under the covers. More than unsavory. When asked about it, it said about the service (who personally can't do anything for it), you can't do anything about it. Have paid and then went somewhere else.
Food was good and solid, but the service was pretty slow. One plate was late because they burnt it, which wouldn’t be much of a problem because they apologized. Having to wait 15-20 minutes, however, just to catch someone to be able to pay and leave, is pretty absurd. I would come again for the food, but they should hire more people. Expect to wait a bit if the place fills up. Really didn’t know what to rate it, either 3 or 4 stars.
Good food and service
Good food and drink. Service a bit patchy
Food is good. But poor service and hard to get the attention of the waitresses. They walk by but don’t ask if you need another beer or bill etc.
Top
Good food, nice location. But I have been surprised that I couldn’t pay with card under 20EUR :( Only cash... This was the first time in Germany, and for sure the last in this place.
Wonderful food and service. Even had a menu in English.
We were in Speyer for a short visit over the Christmas holidays, and had a few meals at the Wirtshaus including breakfasts. Food was good, and the environment was lovely. They do a passable coffee here too. Cist of food was about average cost for Germany, main meals were apprix 20euro each. English not widely spoken.
Not even that expensive of a plate for how tasty and filling it was (wish I remembered what it was called, it was some kind of joint from a pig)! Friendly service - had two waitstaff help me with my German - all of the employees were also dressed in traditional Bayern clothing. Vielen Dank!
Lovely coffee and apple strudel..
Wonderful atmosphere & service. Good food.
Good varied menu.
Not happy about the food at all, they managed to mix up the order as well, the staff is fine, but thats about all. Not recomended.
Nice place & good food. Tks.
Everything is OK just dont order the cordon blue cause its too dry
Delicious sausages
Good food. Nice service. For me little much touristic
Great food in nice surrounding
Don't bother with this place. We went here for dinner as the restaurant we went to yesterday (and enjoyed - Petersillie) was closed. This was a huge disappointment. We sat outside, were ignored for a while. Finally had a menu chucked on the table. Then we got our drinks order taken. Drinks came reasonably quickly. We then waited for our order to be taken. Once that was done we waited - and waited - and waited. We were on the point of leaving some money on the table for the drinks and walking off when finally the meals arrived. Not worth the wait. Very indifferent meals. We then had another wait for the bill - even after asking for it. Service was offhand, meal indifferent, wait huge. We didn't leave a tip!
Good food and good beer. This seems to be a busy place. We went on a Thursday and it was hard to get a table!
Didn't eat, sat here just for drinks. The service is good, the staff is dressed in traditional clothes for Bayern. The food didn't look too good though. The prices are a bit high.
Desperately slow service. Perhaps not the staff's fault -- there never seem to be enough of them to deal with all the customers -- but if you are in any kind of hurry do NOT come in here. Only had drinks: Don't know how the food is. If you need WiFi / WLAN, go down the main drag to Cafe Maximilian where the service is much better and they'll give you a password for their WiFi for the asking.
